How to accept recurring payments in HUF
A recurring price in forints is easier for a Hungarian customer to read, but the currency on the offer does not decide conversion, settlement or fees. Confirm HUF support with each provider you use, then keep four questions separate: the charge currency, any conversion, the settlement currency and the fees.
This guide is general information, not tax or legal advice. Requirements can vary by transaction and applicable jurisdiction.
Make the customer-facing price clear
State the currency and recurring cadence in the offer and confirmation. Explain any separate fees only when verified for the actual payment method and provider arrangement.
Verify currency and settlement support
Ask the configured provider how HUF is supported across the customer’s payment method, processing and settlement. Do not assume that the displayed currency determines conversion or payout currency.
Keep operational records consistent
Check what currency and amount appear in subscription, provider and invoice records, and who reconciles differences. Preserve enough context for customer support and accounting review.
Get local professional guidance
Fees, consumer disclosures, accounting and tax treatment depend on the business and transaction. Consult current official information, your provider and a qualified local adviser before finalizing the workflow.

Customer sees
A monthly price in forints on the offer and confirmation. You set the amount; this example does not state one.
Provider charges
The charge is submitted in the currency your provider setup supports. If conversion applies, confirm with the provider who sets the rate and when.
Seller receives
Funds arrive in the settlement currency configured for your account, after the fees your provider applies.
Before you show a forint price
- Do not promise a conversion rate, payout date or fee amount unless your provider has confirmed it for your account.
- Describe fees only for the payment method and provider arrangement you have verified.
- Check that the amount in subscription, provider and invoice records matches, and who resolves any difference.
Keep four currency questions separate
Charge currency
Which currency is presented to the customer and submitted for this payment?
Conversion
If conversion occurs, who performs it and which rate or timing applies? Confirm this with the provider.
Settlement currency
In which currency does the provider settle funds to your account under this setup?
Fees
Which provider, bank, or conversion fees may apply? Verify the current terms for your account.
